DEVNET SOCIAL CLUB

Development of branding for an exclusive event during the CiscoLive 2019 conference. The one night event for 400 members of the DevNet program was held at a live concert space. A variety cover band played music from ranging from the 1940’s to current day.

MUSIC THROUGH THE AGES

Based on this initial theme, the team explored elements and terms related to music. Three narratives were developed by categorizing terms with similar characteristics.

OPTION 1:

ALL ACCESS PASS

Attendees are presented with their pass to the event. The energy of the night is depicted with multicolor spotlights and sound wave. The visual language extends to illuminated foam sticks attendees could dance with.

OPTION 2:

ICONS

Icons of musical devices represent certain points throughout history. The playful collage creates a fun exploration and sense of nostalgia for attendees. The title is livened up to “Jams Through the Ages.”

OPTION 3:

NEON GLOW

A collection of posters representing a particular genre of music. Each contains a silhouette and lyrics depicting 1940’s jazz, 1970’s funk, and 1980’s rock—a sample of the variety of songs performed by the cover band. An illuminated DevNet logo emphasizes that it is DevNet’s night.

 

ALL ACCESS PASS

The final design has a modified sound wave that incorporates the depiction of the San Diego skyline reflected in the San Diego Bay. With more and brighter colors, the sound wave becomes the centerpiece of the pass.
